Cape firefighters battle structure fire
A massive commercial structure fire in Cape Coral Monday saw billowing smoke and large flames in the area of Southwest Second Terrace and Southwest Third Avenue. Cape Coral Fire Department personnel responded around 5 p.m. Monday, and got the blaze under control around 7. Crews continued to pour water on and around the structure to prevent any rekindling and to diminish the fire load. Firefighters worked throughout the night and into the morning continuing to flow water onto the structure. "An investigation into the case of the fire will be conducted when conditions are safe to do so," CCFD officials stated. No injuries have been reported.
