Teen facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing car, fleeing from police
A 13-year-old Cape resident has been arrested on multiple charges including aggravated fleeing and eluding, grand theft auto and resisting officers without violence in an incident in which he stole a car and fled from police. According to the Cape Coral Police Department report, on Saturday, April 27, at around 9:23 a.m., officers were called to the 1300 block of Everest Parkway. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office requested Cape Coral Police attempt to locate the teen, who was reported missing in their jurisdiction and had possibly stolen a vehicle. Officers made contact with the teen's family member at the home, who said the boy took off in a white Mercedes SUV. That family member said they would leave in their own vehicle to try to look for the teen. Officers also began searching neighborhood streets before turning around to go back to the home.
