July 25, 2009, at 4 p.m., Richard Walker and Dawn Sauerwein exchanged wedding vows at the romantic gazebo-like overlook in the Verandah gated community in Fort Myers. They were surrounded by family and close friends. The couple and guests traveled to Florida especially for this wedding. After a honeymoon in this area, the couple returned to Maryland where they reside.

Lee Flowers, ministerial notary officiant, wedding planner, and owner of A Amore Weddings SWFL in Cape Coral, performed the marriage ceremony and provided wedding accessories.
