Uncommon Friends Foundation announces 2025 Uncommon Scholarship recipients

The Uncommon Friends Foundation this week announced the recipients of its 2025 Uncommon Scholarships, honoring students who exemplify the character traits of the original “Uncommon Friends” — including integrity, perseverance, compassion, and a commitment to self-improvement.

This year, the foundation has awarded more than $35,000 in scholarships to students from across the region who have demonstrated financial need, academic potential, and uncommon character.

2025 Scholarship Recipients:

• Sienna Gasperini – $2,500

• Te’Ryah Curry – $2,500

• Maria Riol – $2,500

• Sofia Gurule – $2,500

• Linda Pierre – $5,000

• Amelie Springer – $2,000

• Kayla Miranda – $2,000

• Damia Michel – $2,000

• Cole Cooke – $2,000

• Aaliyah Harlow – $2,000

• Jack Ham – $1,200

• Brighton Marshall – $5,000

“These students inspire us with their resilience, their purpose, and their commitment to building a better future — not just for themselves, but for their communities,” said Marc Collins, Executive Director.

The Uncommon Friends Foundation scholarship program supports non-traditional students across Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Glades, and Hendry counties. Scholarship recipients are selected not only for their academic goals and financial need, but for the character traits they embody, including honesty, courage, initiative, and citizenship.
