Ida Baker 32, Palmetto Ridge 14: Ida Baker’s 21-game winless streak is finally in the rear-view mirror. Nikolas Korf ran for 192 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Bulldogs to their first win since the 2022 season finale. Nick Velez and Jimmy Hynes caught TD passes from Brody Root. Ida Baker (1-1) left Palmetto Ridge 0-3 on the year.
Cape Coral 42, Bonita Springs 0: After a long storm pushed the game back to an 8:45 p.m. start, the Seahawks unleashed their own storm. It started slowly on a rain-slick field, but gained momentum in the second quarter. Caleb Cobb ran 23 yards for a touchdown, while quarterback Derek Hooker connected on TD passes to TJ Schley and Soldier Morse. Jermaine Skinner scored on runs of 15 and 1 yards, and Tavaris Graves’s one-handed interception turned into a 72-yard pick-six.
Oasis 24, Clewiston 21: The defense provided two safeties, which wound up being the difference that gave Oasis its first win of the regular season. Offensively, Jackson Sabath and Kevin Cisnero ran for touchdowns and Chuck Sipe scored on a pass from Ashton Alverio.
Venice 27, Bishop Verot 14: Macrae Thompson ran for 98 yards on 22 carries to lead the Vikings (1-2). Austaan Cristiaan threw a touchdown pass.
Dunbar 63, Island Coast 0: Tigers quarterback Brandon Seabrook threw four touchdown passes to lead the Tigers (2-0) past the 0-3 Gators.
