Southwest Florida fighters to appear at Planet 13
The popularity of UFC and other pugilistic sports continues to increase. And if you cannot see your favorite local fighters in the octagon or the ring, you can at least meet them in person.
A Cape Coral business is about to give you the opportunity to do just that.
Planet 13 Dispensary is celebrating its two-year anniversary by hosting a Fight Club 13 Knockout Celebration meet-and-greet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
Attendees must be ages 21 and over to attend.
Shaniece Fullove, marketer for Planet 13, said the event is about bringing the community together to meet local fighters.
“Our general manager really loves the whole UFC realm. He introduced the idea to me, so I worked on getting him partnered up with a few fighters,” Fullove said. “We’ll use the theme of ‘Fight Night’ and have fighters engage the community more.”
The event will bring together three Southwest Florida pro fighters including Niko “The Hybrid” Price, a 10-year UFC veteran and Cape Coral native. He just announced his retirement after his big win in Vegas this month.
Also, there will be Tyler “Rookie” Randall, a Cape Coral-based professional bare-knuckle fighter with the Bare-Knuckle Fighting Championship. He uses his platform to advocate for mental health and suicide awareness.
In addition, there will be Jancarlos “Baby Tank” Rivera, a Fort Myers fighter whose wrestling and martial arts background led him into boxing and bare-knuckle competition. His story highlights discipline, and he represents the next generation of Southwest Florida combat sports.
There will be photo opportunities, local vendors, interactive games and much more, including an opportunity to win a set of autographed boxing gloves.
Planet 13 is teaming up with Fight Club Energy, Grateful Veterans and FightMe Combat Sports to make the event possible.
