It’s just about that time again to polish those golf clubs for a day on the links to benefit local animals.

Registration is now open for the 10th annual Cape Coral Animal Shelter Golf Classic, which takes to Palmetto-Pine Country Club on Nov. 7.

One of CCAS’s most popular annual fundraisers, the Golf Classic brings together golfers, local businesses, animal lovers, and community supporters for a fun-filled day on a great course-all to benefit the animals of Cape Coral Animal Shelter.

“We are incredibly fortunate to live in a community where local businesses continue to show up for our animals,” said Pamela Aubuchon, vice president of CCAS and event chair. “Their support makes this tournament possible, and more importantly, it helps us continue saying ‘yes’ to animals who need us.”

Participants will tee off at 7 a.m., with the event running until 2 p.m.

This year, golfers will have even more reasons to aim for that perfect shot. Players will have the chance to win a $10,000 Hole-In-One Prize sponsored by Incredible Bank, or a lease on a Jeep Wrangler sponsored by Cape Coral CDJR.

The tournament also will feature plenty of other on-course games and contests, raffles, prizes, food, drinks, and friendly competition throughout the day.

Organizers said every dollar raised through the Golf Classic benefits the animals of Cape Coral Animal Shelter, helping provide food, shelter, veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and compassionate care for animals in need. CCAS receives no government funding for its operations and relies on private donations, fundraising events, and community support to continue its lifesaving mission.

CCAS officials said that support is needed now more than ever, as CCAS continues its major expansion-including a new 19,000-square-foot shelter and the future expansion of its low-cost veterinary clinic.

The organization is preparing to help more animals and families throughout Southwest Florida than ever before. At the same time, the cost of providing medical care, food, and supplies for shelter animals continues to rise.

“This tournament really is one of those events where everyone wins,” Aubuchon said. “You get to spend a beautiful day on the golf course, enjoy some friendly competition, have a chance to win some incredible prizes, and know that at the end of the day, you played for something much bigger than golf. You played for the animals.”

From serious golfers, to weekend players, or simply those who wants to support a great cause, the Cape Coral Animal Shelter Golf Classic promotes a fantastic day of golf, games, prizes, camaraderie- and plenty of fun.
