When it comes to basketball and entertainment combined, Southwest Floridians have the opportunity to see the best of both worlds next Spring.

Tickets go on sale this Friday for the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, as its Rivalry Tour makes a stop at Alico Arena on April 16.

Officials state the tour is “unlike any other” in the past 100 years of Globetrotter basketball, featuring a whole new game, a new lineup of rivals, and new challenges.

“Fans won’t just be watching, either – this season puts them in on the action, from the court to the jumbotron,” officials stated in a release. “It’s basketball without limits – every possession turned into showtime – bringing the fun, the joy, and the history that only the Globetrotters can deliver.”

The action starts right as the doors welcome in fans, as an all-new pre-game tip-off party takes place for every fan. Select attendees can get pulled onto the court to join in the action, with fans in the stands getting in on the fun as well.

Fans that are looking for the full-tilt experience have the option to choose from various ticket opportunities:

• Ultimate Fan Pass: Be among the first fans inside the arena for 30 minutes of first-look, on-court access with the Harlem Globetrotters before doors open to everyone else.

• MVP Court Pass: Get closer to the team than almost any fan ever does – join the Harlem Globetrotters on the court in the moments before the game begins.

• VIP Bench Tickets: This is your ticket, elevated. Sit on the bench for the entire game, front row to every play. Choose your side: Globetrotters VIP Bench or Rivals VIP Bench.

Organizers state The Harlem Globetrotters, The Washington Generals, and the new lineup of rivals will all debut new game uniforms and fan merchandise, featuring new team colorways and a fresh look built for a new era. That’s not all, as the tour will also unveil the Harlem Globetrotters Rivals Replica Game Ball by Spalding, which is a limited edition “hybrid” basketball — half Harlem Globetrotters, half Washington Generals — commemorating 75 years of the rivalry that started it all.

“The rivalry is theirs. The thrill is yours,” said officials in a release.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. FGCU fans will have access to a special presale beginning Sept. 30 at 10 a.m.

With more than 100 years of entertainment across the world, The Harlem Globetrotters use sport to deliver goodwill, excitement, showmanship, and athleticism to its audiences.

Globetrotter talent has included countless of the top starts of men’s and women’s basketball from college and the pros.

Since 1926, the brand has showcased talent to tens of millions of people in more than 124 countries and territories, across six continents, with more than 400 games played each year around the world.

The award-winning organization currently holds 80-plus Guinness World Records, the most of any professional sports team.

The Globetrotters were coined by the U.S. State Department in 1951 as Ambassadors of Goodwill, and now are now serving as The Official Ambassadors of Goodwill for the United Nations.

The Globetrotters are also the first team in history to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
