Cape Coral 26, Dunbar 20: Pounded in its opener, Cape Coral (1-1) rebounded to beat a Dunbar team that won its first two games by a combined score of 126-13. After going down 12-6, the Seahawks did not allow another offensive touchdown. The Seahawks’ defense caused five turnovers, three with the Tigers deep in Cape territory. On offense, Cape’ JD Irons scored twice on 1-yard runs, while TJ Schley caught 41- and 57-yard TD passes from Derek Hooker. Dunbar’s third score came on a punt return late in the fourth quarter.
Ida Baker 35, IMG Academy State 17: The Bulldogs (2-1) dominated the game, leading 28-3 at the half. Jimmy Hynes caught two Aiden Thurber passes for Ida Baker touchdowns and Patryell Coleman ran for two scores. Bulldogs running back Dominic Pena, who pounded the IMG defense all night, scored on a 1-yard run. The Ascenders’ two touchdowns came against backups in the fourth quarter.

Cape Coral 3, Mariner 1: The Seahawks (3-3) won 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 16-25 against the Tritons (3-5).
Canterbury 3, Oasis 0: The Sharks (2-5) fell by scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-13. Oasis was led by Perry Miller and Brooklyn Brown with 7 kills each, while Karla Garcia anchored the defense with 17 digs.
Bishop Verot 3, Lemon Bay 0: Make it nine wins in a row to start the season as the Vikings swept the Manta Rays 25-18, 25-22, 25-14.
North Fort Myers 3, Ida Baker 1: Down after the first set, the Red Knights (6-1) rallied to win 22-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-13. Carly Painter had 18 kills for North Fort Myers.
