Public nominations are now being accepted for candidates for the Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2027.

Each year, qualified candidates will be considered with regard to several key criteria, including their national recognition (with the addition of post-FGCU career achievements), impact on the University and athletic accomplishments while at FGCU.

Previous FGCU Hall of Fame inductees include Chris Sale, Brooke (Youngquist) Sweat, and the 2012-13 “Dunk City” men’s basketball team.

Selection for the honor of an individual student-athlete may not be made until at least 10 years following final FGCU athletic participation or eligibility to compete, whichever comes last. Consideration for induction now includes former student-athletes who completed their respective playing careers during the 2015-16 academic year. Selection for the honor of a team may not be made until at least 20 years following the completion of the season being recognized.

Nominations of qualified individuals or teams for the Class of 2027 will be accepted until Aug. 31. The 2025 FGCU Athletics Hall of Fame Class will be announced by the end of calendar year 2026 followed by a Hall of Fame induction ceremony in early 2027.
