LARC’s Aiming for Ability Clay Shooting Tournament raises more than $50,000
The Lee Association for Remark-able Citizens hosted its 8th Annual Aiming for Ability Clay Shooting Tournament Friday, May 1, bringing together community members, sponsors and outdoor enthusiasts for a day of friendly competition in support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Presented by Grampy’s Charities, the event took place at Sarasota Trap, Skeet & Clays in Nokomis and raised more than $50,000.
Participants enjoyed a morning on the course followed by lunch, awards and camaraderie, all while raising critical funds to support LARC’s life-enriching programs and services.
Top honors for the day included:
• First Place Team: Sunset Air
• Second Place Team: DEWALT Superstore/HWGA Supply
• Third Place Team: EHC Con-struction
• Top Female Shooter: Kinsey Leonardi
• Overall Top Shooter: Kory Lindenmayer
“This event continues to grow each year, and we are so grateful for the incredible support from our participants, sponsors, and volunteers,” said Angela Katz, executive director of LARC. “Aiming for Ability is more than a tournament-it’s a meaningful way for our community to come together and invest in opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn, grow and thrive.”

Established in 1954, LARC is a training center for success for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. LARC serves more than 300 individuals annually, and participants range from 14 to 83. LARC offers life skills vocational training, youth programs, community residential and employment services, and a vast array of other state-of-the-art community inclusion services on a full-time, year-round basis.
