TRACK AND FIELD
Giovanna Molloy of North Fort Myers came in second Friday in the girls pole vault at the FHSAA Class 3A track and field championships in Jacksonville.
Among the boys, Angel Cruz of Mariner (3200 meters) and Aaden Fields of North Fort Myers (400 hurdles) came in fourth in their respective events.
Dunbar’s Kobe Johnson won state championships in the 110 hurdles and 400 hurdles.

TRACK AND FIELD
Bishop Verot’s Aaron Kluener won the FHSAA state Class 2A javelin title on Thursday at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
His throw of 58.95 meters was 4 1/2 meters better than second-place finisher Landon Plechaty of West Shore.
Vikings teammate Jadrien Carmo also came up big, taking second place in the 400 meters and third in the 200.
The Bishop Verot boys finished seventh in the 66-team standings.
Oasis’ Jazlyn Forbes placed third in the 3200 and fifth in the 1600.
Erin Vezzola of Oasis was seventh in the high jump.
The Sharks girls came in 18th of 52 schools.
