Mariner blanks Fort Myers, 7-0, to win District 3A-11 flag football title

Mariner 7, Fort Myers 0: The Tritons earned the 3A-11 title with a strong defensive performance. Mariner (9-5) held its opponents to just under six points a game this season while averaging nearly 23 points per contest.

SOFTBALL

Cape Coral 18, Lehigh 0 (3 innings): The Seahawks (14-8) scored 18 runs on eight hits, thanks in large part to 32 stolen bases. Brielle Pachick had six steals to go along with two hits, two RBI and three runs scored. Emma White had two hits, four steals, three RBI and two runs scored. Bella Poole had two hits, two RBI, three steals and two runs scored. Cheyenne Sharb stole five bases and Taylor Buice swiped four bases.

North Fort Myers 19, St. John Neumann 3 (5 innings): North piled up 20 hits in winning its regular-season finale. Kelley Conley had three hits, three RBI and three runs scored for the Red Knights (19-3). Kiera Lane, Bella Miceli, Natalie Singletary, Gabriela Salas and Kaliyah Williams had two RBI each. Williams allowed two hits and one run over three innings for the win.

Oasis 5, Port Charlotte 4: Meesha Neujahr and Isabella Rosario both doubled and had an RBI for the Sharks (8-10). Addison Hicks and Nina Curasco drove in one run apiece. Only one of the four runs against pitcher Kyra Cavender was earned.

Bishop Verot 11, North Port 0 (5 innings): Paige Bettermann was the star of the game for the Vikings(17-7). She drove in four runs on two hits, and also blanked the Bobcats on one hit and one walk, striking out 14 batters over five innings. Ashley Blexrud, Abby Giff and Emma Hall had an RBI each.
