Mariner tops Ida Baker, 48-12, in football showdown

Mariner 48, Ida Baker 12: Owen O’Leary threw four touchdown passes as the Tritons (3-6) rolled over the Bulldogs. Steven Leon Carter was on the receiving end of two of those TD passes. Jamarion Corbett and Colin Raftery also made touchdown catches. Jervontae Johnson took a direct snap 63 yards for a TD, Eric David II had a TD run and the Mariner defense chipped in with a fumble recovery in the end zone. For Ida Baker (3-6), Caelum Cragin returned a kickoff 99 yards and caught a TD pass from Brady Root. Cragin surpassed 1,000 yards receiving for the season.
Estero 49, Island Coast 0: The Wildcats (6-3) didn’t allow a point for the second consecutive game, rolling past the Gators (0-9). Island Coast faces Ida Baker in the Crosstown Showdown next week, the season finale for both schools.
