LARC (Lee Association for Re-markable Citizens), a nonprofit organization that empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through vocational training, residential support and inclusive community services, has announced the Fore the Future Youth Golf Challenge — a one-of-a-kind fundraising event just for kids and teens in grades 1-12. This day of fun, mentorship and prizes will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25, at The Golf Club at Crown Colony, at 8851 Crown Colony Blvd., Fort Myers.

The scramble tournament will kick off with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

This is Southwest Florida’s first youth golf fundraiser of its kind, created to bring together elementary, middle and high school students of all skill levels — from beginners to future champions — for a meaningful cause. Golfers will participate in fun on-course challenges and enjoy an awards ceremony and great prizes.

“Whether you’re new to golf or already mastering your swing, the LARC Youth Golf Challenge is your chance to be part of something meaningful,” said Angela Katz, LARC Executive Director. “By raising funds, kids are helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities learn life skills, find jobs, and live more independently. They will also be role models-showing the community the power of inclusion, kindness, and youth leadership. All skill levels are welcome, and it’s not just about winning-it’s about giving your best, having fun, and making a difference. So grab your clubs and join us-you’ll be swinging for a cause that truly matters.”

To participate, each golfer is asked to raise a minimum of $250, which directly supports LARC’s program.  The top three fundraisers receive prizes and a hole-in-one challenge will feature a magical Disney vacation for four.

Organizers say raising $250 is easier than you think! Youngsters can ask 10 people to donate $25 or 25 people to give $10-or mix it up. Other creative ideas to raise money can also be found on LARC’s website at www.larcleecounty.org.

Businesses and community supporters are encouraged to sponsor the Fore the Future Youth Golf Challenge.
