Port Charlotte 57, North Fort Myers 28: The Red Knights (20-5) await the release of the FHSAA brackets to find out whether they will make the playoffs. Port Charlotte (20-7), ranked seventh in the state in Class 5A, has an automatic berth in the tournament. North entered Saturday’s game ranked 40th in 5A.

REGION TOURNAMENTS

Three local teams made it into the state playoffs, with all three opening on the road: 4A-12 winner Island Coast seeded eighth and 3A-10 champ Bishop Verot seeded fifth in their respective tournaments. In 5A, Cape Coral drew the fifth seed. Region playoff action begins Wednesday.
