BASEBALL

Ida Baker 12, Mariner 9 (8 innings): Janiel Peguerro-Rodriguez singled, driving in Cayden Farmer for the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth. Peguerro-Rodriguez also doubled during the game and had three RBI. Farmer was 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored for Ida Baker (7-8). Mariner (7-10) erupted for eight runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally from a 9-1 deficit. Ryan Kotarski’s bases-loaded double keyed the big inning. He also homered in the third and had four RBI overall. Xavier Muentes went 2-for-2 with two RBI. Caden Byrd got the final four outs and the win for Ida Baker.

North Fort Myers 15, East Lee County 0 (4 innings): Aiden Estrada drove in five runs for the Red Knights (6-10), going 2-for-3 with a triple. Thomas Eisminger was 3-for-3 with a solo homer and two doubles, scoring four runs. On the mound, Derek Hooker didn’t allow a hit over four innings, striking out five.

Bishop Verot 13, Wilmette (IL) Loyola Academy 3 (6 innings): Joey Lawson drove in three runs for the Vikings (15-4) and Maddix Simpson contributed two hits, two runs and two RBI.

Imagine School North Port 10. Oasis 0 (6 innings): Gabe Gair had two hits for the Sharks (7-5).

SOFTBALL

Ida Baker 7, Mariner 6: Julie Nieves was 2-for-4 with two RBI to pace the Bulldogs (6-6). Meagan Kunkel had two hits and an RBI. For Mariner (8-6), Mica Barraza had two hits and knocked in a run.

North Port 20, Island Coast 2 (3 innings): The Gators (2-10) were able to score twice despite being held hitless over three innings.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Ida Baker 13, Mariner 12: The Bulldogs eked past the Tritons (1-5) to conclude the regular season 6-0. The inaugural District 2A-16 tournament begins play Monday. Ida Baker, the second seed, has a first-round bye. Mariner opens District 1A-19 competition Monday at Island Coast.
