First round

Mariner 86, St. Pete Northeast 59: Marcus Kelley Jr. scored 21 points to lead the Tritons (18-9) into Tuesday’s semifinals against Barron Collier. Kelley’s total gave him 1,019 points in his Mariner career. Justin Lewis, who had already passed 1,000 career points, had 12 and Kelvin Jiminez 11 on Thursday. Barron Collier edged Sebring 61-58 in the first round.

REGION 3A-3

Tampa Catholic 63, Bishop Verot 56: Leroy Roker scored 23 points in his final Vikings game. Gavin Williams scored 16 points and Jerry Ashley 10 for Bishop Verot (22-7). Tampa Catholic advanced to face Gateway Charter, an 83-68 winner against Bradenton Christian, in the region semifinals.

Cape Coral 7, Gateway 4: The Seahawks earned their first win (1-1) in a defensive struggle against the Eagles (1-1).
