Blades regroup for 2-0 win
Anthony Peters stopped all 22 shots faced to help lift the Florida Everblades to a 2-0 victory Friday night over the South Carolina Stingrays at Germain Arena.
After two scoreless periods, the Everblades grabbed the game’s first goal at 12:33 of the third period. Justin Agosta stuffed in a power play goal over the left shoulder of Vitek Vanecek. Agosta scored his third goal of the season with the help of a nice pass across the ice from Kevin Lynch.
Matt Marquardt put the finishing touches on the game with seconds remaining as he skated past the defense to put one in on an empty net to extend the lead to 2-0.
The Stingrays outshot the Everblades in the game 22-16, but were unable to score on the stingy defense.
Anthony Peters takes home his second career shutout victory stopping all 22 shots faced in the game.
The Everblades go on the road to take on the Greenville Swamp Rabbits Sunday, the first of four straight away from Germain Arena.
