Island Coast earns 23-8 win

1 min read

The Island Coast Gators have some work to do in achieving balance on offense. Their rushing attack did just fine Friday night, though, in paving the way to a 23-8 victory over visiting Lake Placid.

The Gators (3-3, 1-1) picked up their first District 2B-6 win behind 343 rushing yards. They finished with 27 yards through the air.

“It’s the first district victory so obviously I’m happy with that,” Gators coach Joe Bowen said. “We’re moving the ball, but still making mistakes.”

Bryan Bosworth, Willie Fleming and Jordan Reed all scored rushing touchdowns for the Gators, and Kyle Fitzgerald added a field goal.

The Gators host Cape Coral next Friday.
