Prep Report: Seahawks overpower Jaguars
The Cape Coral Seahawks got a game-high 18 points from Joel Hill and Yoko Roldan pitched in with 13 points en route to a 64-48 victory Thursday night over East Lee County at The Nest.
The Seahawks benefitted from the Jaguars’ cold start with just one point in the first quarter. The Jaguars came back from a 17-1 deficit to pull within 34-26 by halftime, but the Seahawks held firm down the stretch.
Cameron Hall contributed seven assists for the Seahawks, who connected for a total of eight three-point baskets. Three of those were by Roldan and two by Kyle Bregenzer.
The Seahawks (4-0) host city rival Mariner Saturday night. The game is designated Cape Coral Parks & Recreation night which recognizes youth wearing their parks & recreation league jerseys to the gym.

Ida Baker 73, Cypress Lake 51: Gabe Rodriguez pumped in a game-high 22 points to lead Ida Baker to an easy victory at Cypress Lake despite converting just 6 of 27 free throws.
Rodriguez got help from Zach Campbell, who added a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds, and Xavier Battle with 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
The Bulldogs opened strong, forging a 40-21 halftime lead and enjoyed a 30-point lead in the fourth quarter.
Baker (4-1) hosts Fort Myers Friday night in a key District 5A-15 matchup.

Bishop Verot 87, Naples 72: Bishop Verot rode the double-figure scoring of four individuals to victory at Naples.
Etienne Effenberg pumped in a game-high 33 points, Jacquard Hagan hit for 26 with Abner Sandoval adding 11 and Brennen Melvin 10. Melvin, Sandoval and Effenberg each grabbed six rebounds.
Kurt Thomas topped four Naples players scoring in double figures with 19 points.
The Vikings (2-1) travel to Sarasota Cardinal Mooney Friday.

Cape Coral 8, East Lee County 0: Eight different players found the net and two goalkeepers combined for seven saves as Cape Coral coasted to a shutout victory over East Lee County.
Shane Pacheco, Paulo Acosta, Kenny Segura, Caio Amaral, Mario Montes, Guillermo Duque, Jordan Germani and Gaston Sola accounted for the Seahawks goals. Fabian Fajardo, Segura, Acosta, Pacheco and Duque each had one assist while Kevin Lopera had two assists. Santi Villamil and Rush Manterola provided the netminding.
The Seahawks (4-4-2, 3-1-1 district) visits North Fort Myers Monday night.
Girls Soccer
Cape Coral 3, East Lee County 0: Cape Coral pulled away with two goals in the second half to blank East Lee County.
Carrie McDonald had one goal and one assist while Emily Daniels and Vicki Reno each added one goal. Goalkeeper Shelby Rowe only had to make one save to post the shutout.
The Seahawks (3-4-2) host North Fort Myers Monday night.
