Lee County Parks & Rec announces completion of shuffleboard project at North Fort Myers Park and Recreation Center
Lee County Parks & Recreation invites the community to celebrate the completion of the shuffleboard project at a ribbon cutting planned for 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, at North Fort Myers Park and Recreation Center, 2000 N. Recreation Park Way, North Fort Myers.
The $2.2 million project includes:
• New 18,000 square feet of shade structure over existing courts
• New scoreboards
• All new LED lighting and fans
• Restored and expanded engraved brick path/area
• Resurfaced courts
• New fencing and gates
• New benches/seating
• New storage building
• New public address system
The project evolved from a request from local shuffleboard court patrons for additional shade to be provided while playing.
The official ribbon-cutting event will include brief remarks from Lee County Commissioners and other officials.
Those unable to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony can watch it via livestream on Lee County’s YouTube channel or on Lee County’s Facebook page.
