The senior helped the Seahawks to a pair of wins last week to get them over .500, with back-to-back double-double performances. He poured in 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Riverdale, and collected 24 points and 10 boards versus North Fort Myers.

“First loss helped us as a team learn to move the ball more effectively and work for the better shot. Those shots started to fall the next two games as we all started working better together offensively and defensively. Goals for our team this year are to continue to grow and improve each game, make a run into regionals, and enjoy the journey while doing so.”

Bishop Verot Vikings

The Vikings’ leading scorer turned in a four-goal performance against Evangelical Christian last week as part of an 8-0 win. Hataaja has 11 goals in eight games for an undefeated Verot girls soccer team ranked No. 11 in the nation according to MaxPreps.

“During the match I was feeling very determined and focused to continue our winning streak and contribute to the game in any way I could. With the help of my teammates and coaches, we were able to get it done and finish with the win. I have been able to improve my performance with the extra time and training my team and I have put in under the guidance of my coaches.”
