Open your wallets
To the editor:
A recap of Wednesday evening’s Cape Coral City Council meeting:
I most certainly would say that this week’s city council meeting had an emotional and interesting citizens input.
One woman who spoke on the closing of Four Freedom’s Park (sold by the city for one dollar) made me misty with remembering those special moments there.
Of course many issues with the Yacht Club Park, like a cost of $100,000 a month for a security guard and a portable toilet.
Councilman Donnell commented that they are always being accused of “spending like drunken sailors,” yet he approved every measure. Fifty-four million for north fleet depot, $31 million incentive for a hospital, $47 million for Bimini East, $35 million for the Yacht Club.
OK Cape Coral citizens, open your wallets.
Oh, ohhh, I always thought “the cone of silence” was from that secret agent No. 86 who worked for Control; Maxwell Smart (1960s TV show “Get Smart.”)
