City’s reasoning is not logical
To the editor:
I addressed City Council last week about the Water Utilities Department. I had a leaking toilet pump which I did not hear as I am partially deaf in my right ear. The water dept. paid a courtesy visit. I immediately shut off the water to the toilet. When I got a $200 bill, I was told that although I never had a leak in 38 years of city water, when I applied for the one-time credit of $50 I could not get it for the following reason:
If you use 10,000 gallons or more you can get the credit of $50. Since I used 7,000 gallons I do not qualify. Where is the logic in that? I was refused someone from city Utilities. He said a supervisor would call but no one did.
I believe in conservation. This is a Catch-22.
I told city council that this is the kind of logic they follow. As Spock from Star Trek would say, “Illogical.”
