Name changes are nothing new

To the editor:

In 2015, President Obama on a visit to Alaska renamed the tallest mountain in North America as “Denali.” This name change was a nod to the Eskimos who had long referred to it as such. The federal name of Mount McKinley was the recognized name since 1896, after the Ohio born, President William McKinley.

The Biden people changed the names they were not happy with of 650 geographical locations.

President Trump has renamed Gulf of America and Mount McKinley (Executive Order 14172; 2025). Now with the renaming of “Lake America,” those with TDS are drowning; won’t someone throw them a float.
