Money matters

To the editor:

The recent primary elections here in Lee County bring out a few distinctions.

The Democrats produced almost 14% turnout for mayor of Cape Coral. The Republicans could only turn out 7.7% This is the socialism creep that inflicts a distressed community.

Everybody is worried about getting sick or if the car will break down. Affordability is the new buzzword.

After I pay all these bills am I going to have money for the grocery store? These are the things we think about at the morning table with our coffee, because we make it at home now because we don’t have the $15 to get “a cup of Joe” at the Starbucks anymore.

We need to talk to our neighbors, we need to look out for each other. I sure hope the Republicans can get some more enthusiasm. We hold more than a 2-1 advantage over the Democrats therefore we need to shine bright and light the way.

God bless all of the candidates and their supporters.
