To the editor:

As a Cape Coral resident, I am proud to support Richard “Rick” Erickson for Mayor in the upcoming primary on Aug. 18.

For too long, our local government has prioritized developers and expensive special projects while ignoring the everyday concerns of the families who live here. Having served over 32 years in the U.S. Army and retiring as a Green Beret Special Forces Sergeant Major, Rick brings the kind of disciplined, selfless leadership and real-world problem-solving our city desperately needs. He is running to ensure that local residents finally have a voice that is respected and heard, rather than sidelined.

We need a leader who puts public service above politics-as-usual, and I encourage my neighbors to join me in voting for Rick Erickson to bring true accountability back to Cape Coral.
