If you want it done right…..

In September of 2022 Hurricane Ian slammed into Cape Coral causing massive damage.
The Brotherhood of Heroes Museum did not escape Ian’s wrath. In particular, the sign outside the Museum was really beat up. I did the best I could to patch it together. It sat that way for over three years.
About two months ago the museum got a visit from Cape Coral code enforcement. They stated the sign was unsafe and needed to be repaired within two weeks or fines would be levied. Trust me, the museum does not have funds to finance a new sign that would cost thousands of dollars. What to do?
I started calling around, making pleas for help and assistance. We were running against the clock, we needed money, a reliable contractor and someone who can get the job done right and with speed.
I hit a brick wall, as I am not a handyman. The owner of the museum was truly worried. Then I happened to mention it to a fellow veteran, Rick Erickson.
That’s right, the same guy who is running for Cape Coral mayor. He was on this project like you know what. Within three days, the sign was ready to be built back to specs. Within one week, the base was done.
In the meantime, code enforcement noticed the work being done and cut the museum some slack. Within six weeks the sign was up and running, completely finished. Rick himself showed up at six in the morning to paint the sign. Rick wanted it to be completed by the 4th of July.
Well, that’s my story about a sign, more importantly, it’s a story about leadership, integrity and taking charge of a difficult situation and taking a negative and turning it into a positive. In my book, this is exactly the kind of man we need running the City of Cape Coral.
Come election time, he has my vote. Meet with him, talk with him, give him a chance to earn your vote.
