Time to rethink U.S. effort in Iran
To the editor:
I’m an independent voter who supported President Trump three times.
The lack of response to the recent Iranian attacks on Israel and other Middle Eastern nations appears to have encouraged Iran to escalate and intensity their acts of aggression. The leaders in Iran have no interest in a peace agreement. They’re just stalling and are solely focused on annihilating Israel and America.
We’ve been close to a nonexistent cease fire and peace deal for the last two months. We now have a supposed 60-day agreement.
The U.S. needs to rethink its strategy or face a drawn-out conflict like we have had in the past.
You can’t negotiate with a nation that lacks morality. It’s time to put an end to the regime once and for all and focus on the economic needs of this country.
