Anthony “Tony” James Baglio
Anthony “Tony” James Baglio, 76, a longtime resident of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away September 6, 2026 in Martinsburg, WV. Tony was a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, husband, veteran and friend who will be remembered for his humor, kindness, craftsmanship and love of family, animals and the outdoors.
Tony proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a talented woodworker and builder whose greatest accomplishments included a beautiful log home he built in the East Mountains, bringing each log up a long dirt driveway to the wooded site he had chosen. He also built beautiful porches and created special handmade pieces for members of his family.
Tony loved hunting, fishing, competitive pool and darts, and he enjoyed cruise ship vacations. Some of his happiest years were spent in Florida, where he loved the warm weather and quiet time on the lanai with his cats. He greatly missed Florida and often spoke of returning.
At home, Tony enjoyed taking care of his house and cooking for his wife. He would rise early, make the coffee and feed the cats, quietly caring for those around him.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Baglio, and his brother Mike Sr. He leaves behind his brothers Joseph and Tom, his sister Josie, his close cousins Liz, Lenny and Ronnie, and his nieces and nephews, Mike Jr., Chris, Nikki, Angela, Carrie and Ben. His wife Debbi and her children Matthew and Amanda Shafer shared in many of the happy memories Tony left behind.
Tony also leaves behind many friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.
Fair winds and calm seas, Tony. You served your country, you built beautiful things, you made us laugh, and you left pieces of yourself in the homes and hearts of the people who loved you. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
