Dorothy L. Younts, age 90, from Cape Coral, FL died on October 8, 2022 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida
Dorothy was born in Muskegon, Michigan on May 29, 1932 to Andrew & Theresa Spaniola who were from Calabria, Italy. Dorothy had a brother, William (Bill) Spaniola. Dorothy married Dewey Younts on September 26, 1953 in Muskegon, Michigan. Dewey and Dorothy had two daughters, Terri and Debbie. Dorothy was very active in Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School in Muskegon, Michigan. Dorothy was the president of the Alter Society for Sacred Heart; president of the PTA for Sacred Heart Elementary School. She worked for the rectory at the Sacred Heart Church for 10 years doing accounting and administrative work.
Dorothy and Dewey moved to Cape Coral, Florida in 1979. Dorothy then went to work for the Lee County Clerk of the Courts where she retired in 2002. Dorothy and Dewey loved to play golf and traveled with friends to enjoy the game. They were also very active with their two grand children and took them golfing often. Dorothy was a caring and loving wife, mother, & grandmother.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Dewey, daughter Terri, Son-in-Laws Terry McCabe and Pat Philbin, grandchildren Keisha Westbrook, Brent Philbin & Shawn Philbin, nephews Bill and Mark Spaniola.
Dorothy is predeceased by her parents Andrew & Theresa Spaniola; brother William (Bill) Spaniola; sister-in-law Veronica Spaniola, and daughter Debra Philbin.
There will be a Mass to honor Dorothy’s life on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11AM at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd S, Cape Coral, Florida 33904.
