John P. Mac Carthy
John P. Mac Carthy, 94, of Cape Coral died on May 20, 2009 at Coral Trace, Cape Coral.
He was born on July 24, 1914 in Wales, a child of Daniel and Gladys (Proctor) Mac Carthy.
He served in the British Marines for 12 years and came to the United States at the age of 33, attaining U.S. citizenship at 36. He was employed by several international airlines as district manger. After retiring from the airlines, he continued working at local travel agencies in the Chicago area for 10 years.
A Cape Coral resident for the past 14 years, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia A. (Grant) Mac Carthy, his daughter, Kieran Anne Mac Carthy and his granddaughter, Kendra Mac Carthy-Simpson, all of Cape Coral.
He was the father of the late Grant Martin, who died in 1997.
The funeral will be private for the family.
