Following the issuance of permits from the city of Fort Myers, Suffolk, one of the most innovative and successful builders in the country, has begun construction of the All Veterans Memorial in Fort Myers. The memorial will serve as a tribute honoring the service and sacrifice of veterans across Southwest Florida ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Located downtown in Centennial Park, the memorial will serve as a place of reflection, remembrance and community gathering.

Suffolk brings experience delivering projects that require close coordination with public stakeholders and regulatory agencies. The pre-construction process of the All Veterans Memorial has involved extensive collaboration with the city of Fort Myers and design partners, including Grace Design and Johnson Engineering, to navigate permitting and stormwater considerations while ensuring the project is delivered with durability and longevity in mind.

The committee worked closely with the Fort Myers City Council, Assistant City Manager John Lege III, Parks and Recreation Events Manager Brian Craig, City Engineer Nicole Setzer and the City’s volunteer Public Art Committee and Historical Preservation Commission.

The All Veterans Memorial is intended to address a longstanding community desire for a dedicated space recognizing the service of local veterans while creating a meaningful public destination in Fort Myers.

Suffolk is contributing its construction management services, design coordination and permitting services in kind. Trade partners have also donated their services to support the effort.

“This project reflects the best of what Suffolk strives to do as a builder: partner closely with communities and help deliver projects that matter,” said Ben Wilson, General Manager of Suffolk, Southwest Florida. “It’s an honor for our team to help bring this memorial to life knowing it will serve as recognition for veterans and families for generations to come.”

“As a veteran myself, the All Veterans Memorial holds deep personal meaning,” said City of Fort Myers Mayor Kevin Anderson. “Our community is proud to recognize and honor those who have served our nation with courage and sacrifice, and this memorial stands as a lasting tribute to their service and a reminder that their commitment to our freedoms will never be forgotten.”

Suffolk has a long-standing commitment to supporting veterans and the communities it serves through both its project work and employee-driven initiatives. Across the country, Suffolk partners with organizations focused on veteran health, housing and reintegration, including Home Base, and supports veteran-focused nonprofits through board leadership, volunteerism and community investment.

The All Veterans Memorial reflects Suffolk’s broader commitment to delivering meaningful community projects while honoring those who have served.
