The Lee County Supervisor of Elections has held onto her seat.
Voters decided that Republican incumbent Jenna Persons-Mulicka will continue to serve Lee County after being appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in May 2026.
Persons-Mulicka defeated Democrat Chris Vignieri by more than 60,000 votes in Tuesday’s General Election. The final tally was 181,135 to 117,523 in her favor.
“Thank you, Lee County voters, for trusting me to continue serving as your Supervisor of Elections,” Persons-Mulicka said. “It’s an honor to be your champion for election integrity and for ensuring our elections are free and fair.
“I am beyond honored that Lee County voters have put their trust in me to provide accurate and secure elections.”
Persons-Mulicka will serve out the remaining two years of her term after her appointment, and will next be on the ballot in 2028 for a full four-year term.
“I love serving Lee County as your Supervisor of Elections and am excited to continue to do the job,” she said. “I hit the ground running this election cycle and now have the opportunity to reflect on that experience to look at areas where we can improve as we start preparing for the 2028 presidential election cycle.”
Persons-Mulicka said some items on the near horizon include ramping up the office’s educational and voter registration campaigns, as the office will be kicking off a voter registration challenge among area high schoolers next week.
Also, Persons-Mulicka said the office has new state election integrity laws that take effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
“I’m quite familiar with those laws since I helped write them while I served in the Legislature and we’ve already started preparing for how we will implement those laws, including citizenship verification directly after registration,” she said.
When asked what fulfills her in the role as supervisor, Persons-Mulicka said, “Free and fair elections are foundational to our constitutional republic. Ensuring we have elections with the highest integrity where it is easy to vote and hard to cheat is a fulfilling job.”
As for what she hopes to continue to do in the role, Persons-Mulicka said, “Florida is the gold standard of fair and free elections and I want Lee County to be a shining example of how elections are run with integrity, accuracy, transparency and security.”
