Sweet Cape event to celebrate local first responders
A Cape Coral business that serves up sweet treats is hosting a night dedicated to first responders.
LadyCakes Bakery is inviting the Southwest Florida community to come together for a special celebration honoring the men and women who serve and protect local neighborhoods throughout the year.
From 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 28, it will host its First Responders Appreciation Day, a family-friendly event featuring special guests, first responders, children’s entertainment, delectables and a charitable initiative designed to give back to the region’s hometown heroes.
“At LadyCakes, we’ve always believed that being a small business means being part of something much bigger than ourselves,” said owner Bess Charles. “Our first responders show up for this community every single day, often during some of our most difficult moments. This is our opportunity to show up for them. We want to bring families, local businesses, and our hometown heroes together for a morning filled with gratitude, smiles, and community spirit.”
The event will feature a special appearance by Cape Coral social media personality and comedic conservative influencer Conservative Ant, who will be available for a meet-and-greet.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Crisis K9 Unit, interact with area first responders, and learn more about the important roles these individuals and their four-legged partners play in supporting the community.
“LadyCakes Bakery has partnered with local organizations and businesses to create an exciting and meaningful morning for families and first responders alike,” it stated in a release.
In addition to the festivities, LadyCakes Bakery is inviting the community to participate in a special cupcake donation initiative benefiting first responders.
At the event and throughout October, customers and community members can sponsor a box of cupcakes for $15, which will be personally delivered to local first responders by the LadyCakes team.
Officials state the initiative “provides residents with a simple yet meaningful opportunity to express their gratitude to the police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, dispatchers, and other emergency responders who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving Southwest Florida.”
Founded by Charles, LadyCakes Bakery has served Southwest Florida for more than 20 years, specializing in gourmet cupcakes, custom cakes, cookies, desserts and one-of-a-kind edible creations.
