Cape Coral’s annual ode to German culture is back again, as the local-favorite event kicks off this Friday with two weekends of celebration.

The German-American Social Club of Cape Coral’s 41st Annual Oktoberfest will welcome thousands to the Bavarian Garden grounds this weekend and next, bringing their version of the staple event in Munich to life here locally.

“The GASC is very excited to give back to the community the support we get the whole year, and let them be part of us,” said GASC President Wolf Pech. “For first-timers, it’s an experience they will never forget and will keep in their minds and want to come and participate every year. Attendees can expect authentic German and American bands, authentic food, and a great variety of beers — especially German beers.”

Oktoberfest hits the Bavarian Gardens Oct. 16-18 and Oct. 23-25.

The event is the region’s premier celebration of German culture, cuisine and community spirit, where all walks of life can gather for some Gaudi (leg-slapping, joyous fun) and Gemütlichkeit (that warm feeling of belonging and being a part of something special).

“It connects people of all generations and all ages, and brings them closer to German culture,” Pech said.

Attendees can expect authentic homemade-style specialties including schnitzel, bratwurst and pretzels paired with imported German beers, domestic brews, wines and spirits. American festival classics and non-alcoholic beverages also will be available. Last year, 768 kegs were poured, with plans to surpass that number this year.

“We have a great variety of German and American beers, brought in from German and American breweries,” Pech said. “People can expect authentic German Sauerbraten with dumplings and red cabbage, Schnitzel dinner, brats, potato pancakes and German cakes.”

No Oktoberfest could be complete without music under the big tent and throughout the grounds. The club’s German friends straight from Bavaria — The Maselheimer Musikanten and Die Aichers — will perform, while attendees dance away to local bands in the Biergarten.

The festival grounds will feature three music stages, three dance floors, and continuous foot-tapping performances from German bands and local musicians.

“We have two German bands that flew in for our event to entertain our guests with German traditional music,” Pech said. “Our own Hafenkapelle and well-known local bands like Deb and the Dynamics, Outsiderz, Rock Candy, Mockingbird and Remedy will also perform, just to name a few.”

The event also features a carnival area with rides and games for children, vendor booths, and dining in the Von Steuben Hall.

The event welcomes opportunities to meet and grab a photo with Ms. Oktoberfest 2026, Christine Blasses.

Blasses was born and raised in Bavaria and moved to the United States a few years ago. She joined the GASC about seven years ago and began to volunteer there.

General admission tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the gate, with free admission for children ages 12 and under. On-site parking is free.

GACS’s VIP program is back, featuring exclusive seating, drink specials, a sit-down meal in the Von Steuben Hall, a beer stein with refills, and much more.

The GASC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting German culture, heritage, and community fellowship in Southwest Florida through social events, volunteer efforts, and cultural traditions.
