Residents in select parts of the city may see a reduction, or elimination, of water pressure this Saturday.

According to city of Cape Coral Officials, residents in the area of Cape Coral Parkway between Palm Tree Boulevard and Chiquita Boulevard, could experience “little to no” water pressure this Saturday between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

City officials said the temporary pressure reduction, “is necessary because crews are lowering the PSI at the South Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant and the Palm Tree pump station while they complete repairs in the area.”

City officials said the affected areas include properties on each side of Cape Coral Parkway between Palm Tree Boulevard and Chiquita Boulevard, including customers within the planned shutdown area.

“Residents and businesses in (the affected area) will have no pressure for most of the day and should plan accordingly and use bottled water if necessary,” city officials stated in a release.

According to the city, water service is expected to remain available for residents outside the designated shutdown area, although they may experience reduced pressure.

“These residents will not be under a boil-water notice,” city officials stated. “A boil-water notice, if needed, would apply only to customers within the specific shutdown area. Those customers will be notified directly.

“The city appreciates residents’ patience while crews complete this necessary repair.”
