Election 2026 | Question of the Week 7, District 6
Each week through the General Election, The Breeze will ask the candidates for Cape Coral City Council an issue-related question. In the interest of fairness, each candidate is limited to the same amount of space, about 100 words, for their response.
Cape Coral City Council races are non-partisan races. Council members qualify in their respective districts but are elected at-large. This means all registered city voters may cast a ballot in each race regardless of where they live and the party to which they are affiliated, if any. This year’s General Election, on Nov. 3, features four Cape Coral City Council races: Mayor and the seats for District 1, 4 and 6.

Question of the Week: What message did voters send in the Aug. 18 Primary? What is your response?

The Aug. 18 Primary showed that Cape Coral residents are engaged, paying attention, and want their voices heard. I believe the message is simple: listen to the residents and stay focused on the issues that directly affect their quality of life.
For me, that means being responsible with taxpayer dollars, making thoughtful decisions as our city continues to grow, investing in our infrastructure, keeping public safety a priority, and being transparent and accountable in the decisions we make.
Cape Coral is growing, and with that growth comes a responsibility to protect what makes our community special while planning responsibly for the future. I’ve always believed public service is about listening, doing the work, and making decisions based on what is best for the people you serve.

I believe voters sent a clear message that they want to be heard, respected and represented. I have been putting in the work for years, showing up, listening to residents, advocating for Cape Coral and building relationships that can benefit our city. I believe voters recognize that. They want responsible spending, greater transparency and leaders who listen before making decisions.
My response is to keep listening and keep working. We need to tighten our spending, make sure taxpayer dollars are being used responsibly and focus on the services and infrastructure our residents need. We also need stronger relationships with our state and federal representatives. Cape Coral should be aggressively pursuing every available grant and funding opportunity so local taxpayers are not carrying the entire burden of our growth.
