Election 2026 | Question of the Week 7, District 1
Each week through the General Election, The Breeze will ask the candidates for Cape Coral City Council an issue-related question. In the interest of fairness, each candidate is limited to the same amount of space, about 100 words, for their response.
Cape Coral City Council races are non-partisan races. Council members qualify in their respective districts but are elected at-large. This means all registered city voters may cast a ballot in each race regardless of where they live and the party to which they are affiliated, if any. This year’s General Election, on Nov. 3, features four Cape Coral City Council races: Mayor and the seats for District 1, 4 and 6.

Question of the Week: What message did voters send in the Aug. 18 Primary? What is your response?

I believe the election results reflect the voice of the people and who they would like to represent them moving forward. Now I hope we can come together as a community, become more united, put the woes of the past behind us, and focus on what we can accomplish together. Cape Coral has an incredible future ahead of it, and I believe that when we work together, we can do great things for our city and its residents.

Voters clearly are looking for change from the council. Not having a conflict of interest with our elected officials was an issue for the residents. Affordability and keeping Cape Coral a safe place to live, while making decisions based on common sense, facts and financial analysis is what the residents want. I believe going into the general election the voters will want to see what candidates will want to accomplish while in office. With my Slush Fund series and the council’s use of them for balancing this year’s budget shows that I plan to improve city performance.
