Election 2026 | Question of the Week 6, District 6
Each week through the Primary, The Breeze will ask the candidates for Cape Coral City Council an issue-related question. In the interest of fairness, each candidate is limited to the same amount of space, about 100 words, for their response.
Cape Coral City Council races are non-partisan races. Council members qualify in their respective districts but are elected at-large. This means all registered city voters may cast a ballot in each race regardless of where they live and the party to which they are affiliated, if any. This year’s Primary, on Aug. 18, features three Cape Coral City Council races: Mayor and the seats for District 1 and 6. District 4, with only two candidates, will be on the Nov. 3 General Election ballot.

Question of the Week: What message would you like voters to take to the polls?
• Joseph Angrisano
Vote for independent leadership with zero conflicts of interest and zero connections to City Hall insiders. My priorities are Respecting and Acting on Resident Feedback, Smart Growth, Accountability, and Taxpayer First. Elected officials work only for you, not developers or the “good old boy network” currently running the city. Elections have consequences. We can achieve fiscal sanity, and most importantly restore trust in our representatives.
• Jeffrey Huddleston
Basically I’m asking the voters to please just because they might be a friend or a neighbor, do your research. Look at who is backing this city administration which has done nothing for the residents or the city. If we continue to go down this path we are going to be deeper in debt. We have individuals that can’t even do a business plan and don’t have the answers when the council says how much is this going to cost and you can’t even stay within a budget on that certain project. I care about this city. I’ve been here for 12 years. I see a lot of potential for this city. If you do it right — and the right way is to listen to the people — because I’m getting really good ideas from residents and opportunities to meet with great people.
Liza King
I want voters to know they have a choice for experienced, accountable leadership. As a lifelong Cape Coral resident with more than 30 years of public service, I understand the importance of protecting taxpayer dollars, supporting public safety, and planning for responsible growth. My commitment is to listen to residents, make decisions based on facts, and always put the community ahead of politics. We can keep Cape Coral safe, affordable, and financially strong while preserving the quality of life that makes our city such a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

Residents are calling for decisive action to secure Cape Coral’s future through fiscal responsibility, sustainable economic growth and continued public safety. Rising Utility Extension Project costs require disciplined budgeting, competitive bidding, stronger oversight, and the elimination of wasteful spending to protect taxpayers. As the population grows, the city must ensure police, fire, and emergency services have the proper staffing, funding, and resources needed to keep residents safe. Cape Coral must also support local businesses, expand commercial economic opportunities, and attract and retain young families and workers to build a strong, resilient economy.

Cape Coral isn’t just where I live-it’s home. I’ve spent my life serving this country and this community because I believe service before self isn’t just a motto; it’s how we make a difference. I look to serve not because I have all the answers, but because I will always listen, tell the truth, work hard, and make decisions based on what’s best for our city. I never forget that every decision I make affects my neighbors, and I will always put Cape Coral first.
