Election 2026 | Question of the Week 5, District 4 (General Election only)
Cape Coral City Council races are non-partisan races. Council members qualify in their respective districts but are elected at-large. This means all registered city voters may cast a ballot in each race regardless of where they live and the party to which they are affiliated, if any. This year’s Primary, on Aug. 18, features three Cape Coral City Council races: Mayor and the seats for District 1 and 6. District 4, with only two candidates, will be on the Nov. 3 General Election ballot.
Question of the Week: How should the city proceed on the Yacht Club rebuild?
The following candidates are running for Cape Coral City Council set for District 4: (This race will appear on the Nov. 3 General Election ballot only:

The Yacht Club rebuild should move forward thoughtfully, transparently, and always with community input. Sadly, the historic building was torn down after Hurricane Ian. I would like us to create something honors its legacy while serving future generations. I have always believed we should build from the outside in, prioritizing the seawall, docks, and waterfront infrastructure so residents can begin enjoying the property as construction continues. We should continue exploring public-private partnerships to ensure we are good stewards of taxpayer dollars. The Boat House restaurant should be completed within the next two years, while the broader vision is developed responsibly.

The Yacht Club is an important part of Cape Coral’s history and identity, but any rebuild must be financially responsible and transparent. Residents deserve a clear understanding of costs, funding sources, and long-term maintenance obligations before major decisions are made. I support restoring the Yacht Club in a way that preserves its character, protects our waterfront, and provides value for all residents while avoiding unnecessary financial burdens on taxpayers.
