Lee FlexEd options return for homeschooled students
School District of Lee County will again offer Lee FlexEd for home education students.
“We are excited to enter our second year of the Lee FlexEd program following a successful launch with our initial cohort during the 2025-2026 school year,” said Cara Coble, instructional coach and content specialist with the district.
The program is designed for home education students who participate in either the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC-PEP), or the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA).
The fee-based program is open to middle and high school students.
“Eligible families simply need to complete our online interest form to share their course and school preference,” Coble said. “From there, a Choice Navigator will reach out directly to guide them through the next steps and personalized options.”
The form can be filled out at https://tinyurl.com/9k3ket9d.
Enrollment is currently open for the first semester. To ensure families have time to attend open house and their assigned school, enrollment will close on Aug. 1.
“We will continue placing students through Aug. 11, right up until the first day of school,” she said.
The district has capacity for approximately 100 students this year.
“With about 25 applicants already submitted, seats are filling quickly,” Coble said. “We encourage interested families to submit an interest form as soon as possible to secure their spot.”
Courses offered are tailored to each participating school site, but students can choose from a range of classes.
“Opportunities include visual and performing arts, JROTC, and various Career and Technical Education programs that offer industry certifications,” Coble said. “Participating students attend their selected course on-site at their assigned school every day during the scheduled period, allowing them to seamlessly integrate into the school community for that period.”
She said Lee FlexEd is a wonderful bridge between home education and public-school resources.
“It allows students to enrich their learning, build unique skills, and earn industry certifications that pave the way for future career success,” Coble said.
