Cape Coral Police Department soliciting resident input
Cape Coral’s police department wants to hear about its performance from residents.
An online portal is now available for members of the community to share feedback, commendations, or other comments about the Cape Coral Police Department’s performance.
The portal is open via the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
“The Cape Coral Police Department is committed to continuous improvement — and your voice plays a vital role,” CCPD officials stated via a social media post.
According to CCPD officials, CALEA is the nation’s leading law enforcement accreditation organization. CCPD’s Public Affairs Office stated CALEA establishes nationally recognized professional standards for policing, and agencies that earn accreditation undergo a rigorous review of their policies, procedures, operations, and best practices to demonstrate they meet those standards.
“We are always wanting to improve and be the best we can be for our community, so community feedback is a very valuable part of that process,” CCPD officials said via email. “CALEA maintains the portal, and the submissions are reviewed by our Professional Standards Bureau.”
Community members can access the portal through CCPD’s “Compliments and Complaints” section on capecops.com, or by visiting cimrs2.calea.org/653.
