The Cape Coral Animal Shelter's eighth annual Giving Tree Campaign is underway. A generous anonymous donor has pledged a $25,000 matching gift. Every light will "represent a story of kindness, and every gift— no matter the size —helps transform lives."

The Cape Coral Animal Shelter’s eighth annual Giving Tree Campaign launched with $25,000 match from anonymous donor.

“The Giving Tree is more than a fundraiser — it is a symbol of hope, love, and remembrance. For every donation received, a new light will glow on the tree, shining brightly for the animals who depend on our care and illuminating a path toward a better future,” a release from the states.

“Donors are encouraged to dedicate their light for any reason close to their hearts-whether to help prevent animal cruelty, to honor a cherished furry companion, or in memory of a beloved loved one, furry or otherwise. Every light represents a story of kindness, and every gift-no matter the size-helps transform lives.”

“Thanks to the extraordinary commitment of our anonymous matching donor, every dollar donated will be matched up to $25,000, instantly doubling the impact of each contribution” said Liz McCauley, executive director. “These critical funds will directly support the Shelter’s mission to rescue, protect, and provide compassionate care to the forgotten and abandoned animals in our community.”

“As the Giving Tree begins to glow this holiday season, it stands as a powerful reminder of what is possible when a community opens its heart,” the release states. “The Cape Coral Animal Shelter extends its deepest gratitude to all who continue to support our mission and to our anonymous donor whose ongoing generosity makes this campaign possible.”

The community is invited to join the “lighting the way” campaign as it strives to meet the $25,000 donor match.
