CRA to consider requested demolition grants
The South Cape Redevelopment Agency is expected to vote on Demolition Assistant Grant requests Wednesday.
First, Council is expected to decide whether to amend Resolution 7-23, which established the program that incentivizes and expedites the removal of obsolete existing structures and secondary/accessory structures.
Resolution 20-25 would authorize a $100,000 grant award to Cape Gateway, LLC, which owns the property on 1612 Cape Coral Parkway, E.
Resolution 23-25 would authorize a grant award of $23,725 to Bill M. Powell, trustee of the Bill M. Powell Revocable Trust Agreement dated Aug. 30, 1996, and Marjorie Hope Powell, trustee of the Marjorie Hope Powell Revocable Trust Agreement dated Aug. 30, 1996, for the property at 1614 S.E. 46th St.
The final resolution is 24-25 for Marjorie Powell, trustee of the BPMP Consulting, Inc., a Florida Corporation, Pension Plan and Trust for the property at 1620 S.E. 46th St. in the amount of $30,175.
Cape Coral City Council, sitting as the CRA governing board, also will appoint the chair and vice chair for the Community Redevelopment Agency, and the proposed meeting schedule for 2026.
Other new business topics include the unimproved parking lots in the South Cape Zoning District and commercial vehicle parking in rights-of-way. There will also be staff reports concerning code compliance, CRA maintenance and CRA projects.
The meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, in City Council chambers, 1015 Cultural Park Blvd.
The meeting is open to the public.
