Police searching for abducted 2-year-old

Three police agencies are searching for a 2-year-old who was abducted in Fort Myers this morning and was since seen in Cape Coral near Cultural Park.

The Cape Coral Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office are assisting the Fort Myers Police Department in its search for 2-year-old Camila Guzman.

An Amber Alert was been issued shortly before 4 p.m.

“The suspect, Luis Valentin, fled into Cape Coral,” the CCPD said via Facebook.

The most recent sighting was near the 500 block of Southeast 5th Ave, behind the Cultural Park Theater, the CCPD reported.

“Police have set up a perimeter and are actively searching,” the post states.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement advises that if spotted, not to approach. Anyone with information is asked to call FMPD immediately at (239) 321-7700.

Camila Guzman was last seen wearing black pants and a long sleeve black shirt with no shoes. The child has shoulder-length brown curly hair.

According to police, Valentin, 24, was last seen wearing gray shorts with a white or black T-shirt. He was possibly wearing slides. Valentin, described as a “white Hispanic male, is 6 feet tall, has a brown fade haircut and a brown goatee. He has a lion tattoo on one side of his throat and “Princess” tattooed on the other.
