Lee County adjusts debris removal hours for Halloween

By Staff | Oct 30, 2024

For the safety of residents trick-or-treating on Halloween, all Lee County contractor debris operations will cease at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.

The county’s Hurricane Milton self-haul sites will have normal operating hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday.

As a reminder, the county will close two of the four hurricane debris public drop-off sites at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. The two closing locations are:

• 13801 Orange River Blvd., Buckingham

• 50 South Road, Fort Myers

After Sunday, residents who wish to self-haul Hurricane Milton debris can use the two remaining drop-off sites. These locations will remain open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily:

• 5031 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia

• 18078 Cypress Point Road, San Carlos Park

In addition to these debris drop-off sites, the county and its contracted vendor continue debris-collection operations. Residents with questions can call Lee County Solid Waste customer service at 239-533-8000.
