Looking for some Las Vegas thrill without leaving the Cape Coral area? Swing on down to Anthony’s on the Blvd., 1303 Del Prado Blvd., Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m., the Italian-American Club, 4725 Vincennes Blvd., Friday evenings at 6 p.m., and Cruisers Sports Bar, 1517 S.E. 47th Terrace, Sunday evenings at 7 p.m., for some Texas Hold ‘Em poker night fun, hosted by House of Cards, Inc. Organized and run on professional, full-sized equipment by local and professional dealers, there’s no charge to get in on the fun, and everyone has the chance to win throughout the evening.

“It’s a lot of fun – everything is included, and people have a great great time,” said Marcel Poul, owner and operator of House of Cards, Inc.

There’s no charge to enter the weekly tournaments. All you have to do is show up, register (if it’s you’re first time playing with the group), and you’ll get 3,000 chips right from the start, Poul said.

From there, you can add to your pot by receiving 200 chips for every drink you purchase throughout the evening.

“Buy the table a round of drinks and you can have another 1,000 to 2,000 chips in your pot,”?the business owner laughed.

Also, as the service-providing dealers work strictly off of tips, anyone who makes a $5 or more donation to their dealer before the tournament begins receives an additional 1,000 chips.

“Poker nights in Cape Coral have been going very well so far, everyone seems to really be enjoying it,” Poul said.

The winner of every table that evening is awarded a seat in the $100 tournament, and as there are multiple tables going at once, with up to 10 people per table, and each table taking about an hour to play through, Marcel said they’ll play multiple tournaments throughout the night, which results in multiple winners.

“Whoever wins the table(s) that night gets a seat at our weekly $100 tournament, as well as our bi-monthly $500 tournament. In January, we’re going to do a $3,500 tournament for a seat at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, during the World Poker Tour event,” Poul said. “Every two months, winners also get to play in the semi-finals, where top players compete for that prize. All you have to do is win one table in the beginning and you get to compete for all those other prizes.”

Adding to all of the excitement, along with “bounty hunter” games every night, a Straight Flush Pot has been added, as well.

“If anyone gets a straight flush, they’ll instantly win that pot. We’ll continue to add $10 every week until someone hits it,” Poul said.

Are you out of the game but still have lots of chips remaining??Don’t worry; although they have no monetary value, chips can be held to use at the next week’s tournament.
