Joni and Friends, a nonprofit headquartered in California, picked up 70 wheelchairs from the Collier-Lee Honor Flight (CLHF).
The used chairs had served its veterans well for years, but the CLHF recently received a donation of new ones. Joni and Friends will refurbish the wheelchairs that it picked up, then donate them to the needy both domestically and abroad.
The CLHF hosted its next flight on Oct. 10, when the new chairs were put to good use for over 80 U.S. veterans who made the trip to Washington, D.C., to see the national memorials built in their honor.
